Feedback
of Trimester 4 MBA students on Super Specialization Program
Our
Madhavan Gopalachary, takes
various classes for MBA students. He just completed an
advanced course in three subjects, namely Microfinance, New
Product development and Private Equity Investments for MBA students of International Institute of
Planning and Management at Chennai, TN, India. The feedback of
students is reproduced below. The comments are reproduced verbatim, but put through spell and grammar check.

program
|
- Was very interesting
- Expecting to learn more
about this subject
- It was a new subject for me
- I rate this program the
best of the lot
|
- Compared to other two
subjects, my understanding is less on this
- All the classes were
helpful and was not boring at all.
- It was very interesting
for me this semester
|
| G Deepak |
Finance |
- The subject was very
helpful to understand how the suffering poor
can be helped
- I rate this program the
best of the lot
|
- I found it very tough to
understand the concepts
- I personally feel it is
good to have this subject
|
- I feel though the subject
was informative, it is not useful in India
|
| V Rijil |
Finance |
- This was most informative
and very practical. Mere reading books will not
give enough information about the subject. Sir, if
you could spend more time on the subject it would
be great
- I rate this program the
best of the lot
|
- This subject was too
technical and it would be great if you spend more
time on Microfinance and Private Equity
|
- The concept of private
equity was new and the time you spent on this was
very helpful to get some quality information on
the various aspects of private equity

Madhavan's feedback to students
First, let me take this opportunity to
thank you all for the very fine feedback. I know the subject
of New Product Development can be difficult but is part of the
curriculum. You all would observe that Ms. Saranya being an
engineering graduate liked it the most. All Finance people
like the subject of PE, whereas non finance people will find
it difficult. PE industry is set to explode in India and has
lot of potential. Microfinance will always be the most popular
subject with all batches. It has an emotional appeal. Since
all subjects have specific course content and time
constrained, I cannot play around with any of them.
Lastly, all the subjects are practice
oriented and little theory exists. There are hardly any text
books to refer to. It is extremely difficult to come up with
suitable teaching materials to match the course content. I am
glad that my efforts have been appreciated. I have handled the
above subjects for two earlier batches last year and the
feedbacks are very similar.
Best wishes for your future,

The following clarification was
received from Mr. Rijil Valson today:
Sir what i feel about New product development is that ,
even though it is technical, you have made it easy for us by
giving the notes and your notes are really good that it
makes the subject ( New Product development) self explanatory,
what i feel is the other two subjects are more complex and
requires your attention, but i understand the time constraint. Sir i need to thank you once again for taking an extra
effort to update us with the latest information in the form of
notes and also lectures.
